Can AI decorate my home? AI or a designer?

AI tools can restyle a photo of your room in seconds and are great for ideas. But they don't measure, don't know what's behind your walls and invent furniture that doesn't exist. To build or buy, you need a plan with real dimensions and products, which is what a designer gives you.
What AI does well
- Fast ideas: upload a photo, pick a style, get several looks in seconds.
- Exploring styles: see your room as Scandinavian, Moroccan, industrial, without effort.
- Cheap or free: many tools offer free tries.
- Talking with others: a quick image helps explain what you like.
Where AI falls short
- No real dimensions: a sofa may look right but be 40 cm too long for your wall.
- Invented furniture: pieces often can't be bought or built as shown.
- Changes the room: windows move, walls shift, ceilings change height.
- No plans: a contractor can't build from an AI image. There are no dimensions, electrical points or details.
- Unreliable light: shadows and reflections may not match your real windows.
- No judgement: it can't weigh your budget, habits, storage needs or what's possible in your building.
What a designer brings
- A layout that works with how you live.
- Furniture and materials that exist, in the right sizes.
- Plans your contractor can follow.
- Renders based on your real space and light.
- Someone to answer questions and adjust the design.
Use both
AI is a good starting point. Collect the images you like and send them to your designer. They show your taste quickly, and the designer turns them into a design that fits your real space and can be built.
How we use AI
We use AI as a tool in our work, never as a cheap shortcut to deliver faster. The field changes every month, so we don't list specific tools. What doesn't change: every layout, choice and render is decided and checked by a designer, and quality always comes first.
